i think that politicians should not be chastised if they change their minds. i understand if they have changed their positions multiple times depending on what’s popular at the time, that could be understood as “flip-floppy” or whatever. but if it’s one major switch, like hillary clinton’s switch from the republican party to the democratic party in college, i say what the hey. if anything, i believe it means that much more to her, right? because look, the best way to make a good, knowledgeable decision is to research both sides of the story – hillary was raised in a conservative household, had her beliefs, got involved, was president of the young republicans in college, and then realized it wasn’t for her. obviously with her involvement and position, she researched the shizz out of the other side of the story. she was in college! learning and growing and challenging your beliefs and changing your mind is what college is about. she had the proverbial balls to change her mind and beliefs!

i am obsessed with this election. super tuesday 2008 was the first primary election i got to vote in, so it was very exciting! minus the nervous, jittery sickness at the bottom of my stomach i had both the day before and the day of because i was freaking out about for whom to vote.

this primary election was definitely one of those heart (barack obama) vs. mind (hillary clinton) decisions for me. after an hour in the parking lot debating with my bff priya/myself, i decided to go with my heart (corny) and baracked the vote.

we will see!

p.s. all this political thinking was prompted by a lovely thai food lunch i had with brian and his green party friends.
