tory burch reva flats – black leather with gold hardware.  i know they blew up like 2 years ago, and i was one of those who thought it silly for tory burch to receive the cfda award for accessory designer of the year for a pair of plain black leather flats with a “signature gold ornament” on it.  but i tried them on today and i almost understand – they are super-comfortable!  a flashback to wearing the rigid black flats (the only not-heels black shoes i had) i wore during the super bowl where i was on my feet working for 20+ hours straight was enough to be the final incentive.  i think they look classic and simple enough to stand the test of time, no?  $69.99, originally $195.00

reviewing my purchases does one of two things, depending on my guilt levels at the time:

1.  makes a solid case as for why i would purchase it in the first place
2.  makes me feel shittier about all this stuff i’m buying with money i don’t have.  while i’m young?  and can do it without it affecting my hungry children/husband?

in other news, one hundred years of solitude has all but taken over my life.  i very much enjoy it!  it’s marvelous, scandalous and fabulous.

priya’s birthday is tuesday, so we are heading down tomorrow to pass the weekend until her monday-night power hour!  soo excited, i think she’s going to do the 4th avenue run that induced me to vomiting in my hands.  it will also be my “final sanitation”, after monday’s wine flush. (i am an absolutely horrible person.  a very much momentous event in my life has occurred though i would much rather not have it documented anywhere but in my own and my closest friends’ memories.  i would just like to note it here for me to refer to it later for whatever reason.)

i had my yearly routine physical + “women’s wellness exam” this past week.  the doctor was very worried about, among other things (…), the bruises on my legs that i got from falling all over myself while drunk.  “oh, i’m just really clumsy!”  and “yeah, i bruise really easily.”  horrible, i hate my life.

my laptop being dropped three disastrous times this summer has caused it to not detect my cdrom drive anymore, sweetcakes.  (priya is really into using “-cakes” as the new “it” suffix, ha.)

now i gots to packkk and cleannn!!!!
